Our Ministries
Worship Committee seeks to equip and bring people together to experience the awesome presence of our Lord through our services, music, and drama as well as in other settings and services. Our ministry seeks to offer all people the opportunity to freely experience God and rejoice in His presence. This committee is charged with assisting the Pastor and Session in developing meaningful services of worship - Being attentive to the music that is used in all services - Developing significant drama-type ministries to be offered intentionally for the community-at-large.
Outreach and Evangelism Committee seeks to equip and bring all people to know of Jesus Christ as Lord. Following the great commission and understanding the Great Ends of the Church we will bring Christ to a world in need of His healing.
This committee is charged with assisting the Pastor and Session in connecting the congregation with our surrounding community and the worldwide community as well. Together with the congregation we will seek to welcome, nurture and keep first-time visitors and expand our attempt at bringing others to Christ. We will endeavor to provide ecumenical programs dealing with present-day concerns, public relations, mission that is international and within the community we serve. We will seek ways to respond to needs in times of peace, war and disasters. All needs will be considered in the scope of Evangelism and Outreach. We will respond to the needy in our own congregation and community. We are also charged with maintaining a working relationship with the Boy Scouts using our facilities. Fair Trade is our newest endeavor.
Fellowship Committee seeks to equip and guide our congregation toward greater unity by way of events and participation in the life of the church that are celebratory in nature. Fellowship is recognized as an extension of worship and outreach/evangelism. Our Lord Jesus spent many times in fellowship with his disciples in their homes and as they traveled.
This committee is charged with assisting the Pastor and Session in developing events that will invite the participation of every member in the life of the church. Congregations that grow also seek greater member interaction especially in social events in the life of the church. This committee is charged with creating creative fellowship events and seeking the help of volunteers that will assist in the development of these programs. This committee's task of seeking volunteers for the many activities in the life of the church is very important. The committee will also take into consideration the need to develop events which are culturally sensitive to the many cultures represented in our congregation. Many celebrations will be developed by this committee.
Finance and Property Committee seeks to equip all leaders of the church in the proper management/stewardship of all that is the life of the church. The committee members seek to assist the congregation and encourage our participation in all efforts that improve our ministry and mission, as we continue to maintain and sustain in good condition the facilities that are entrusted to us.
This committee is charged with assisting the Pastor and Session in developing a sound and healthy Budget every year. The committee is to assist in the maintenance and beauty of our property and grounds. The committee is charged with prioritizing the income and expenditures being mindful of the generosity of our members and friends. Our committee is held accountable by our Session as are all committees, but as good stewards we are also accountable to God. Sound financial and property stewardship will endeavor to help the blessings and progress of our church.
Personnel Policy Committee seeks to be supportive of our church staff and all who by virtue of their employment status serve our congregation and/or academy. The personnel committee seeks to maintain a good and responsible relationship between all staff and our congregation as well as our community.
This committee is charged with assisting the Pastor and Session in keeping in touch with all employees of the church and academy. We are charged with reviewing all paid staff on a yearly basis and recommending to Session any salary changes in the Fall as the budget for the new year is being developed.
Christian Education Committee seeks to provide Christian education to our church for all ages. This committee seeks curriculum that will help individuals grow and mature as Christians. The Christian Education Committee will assess the curriculum and the Sunday school at least once a year and will make recommendations to the Session for possible adjustments/changes in curriculum or mode of teaching.
The Youth ministry Leader will report directly to the Christian Education Committee and this committee will report to the Session regarding monthly activities of the middle and senior high youth group.
